Despite the marginal decrease in revenue, the Group recorded a significantly higher gross loss of RM12.5 million in FYE 2023 as compared to RM1.0 million in FYE 2022 as the Group was severely affected by elevating construction cost, in particularly the cost of sand and cement
This was mainly due to the realisation of bad debt written off amounting to RM9.15 million related to the de-consolidation of Gabungan Eko Construkt Sdn Bhd (“Gabungan”) due to the loss of control over this subsidiary company as a liquidator has been appointed to undertake a winding-up proceeding.
In addition, the Group has also recognised a provision for expected credit loss arising from its trade and other receivables amounting to RM4.5 million during FYE 2023.
During FYE 2023, the Group has issued a total number of 38,247,180 new ordinary shares at an issue price of RM0.08 per share through a private placement exercise.
